John Lloyd Cruz is the photographer behind the portraits of Cinemalaya’s 18 filmmakers.

On Facebook Wednesday, Cinemalaya made the reveal by sharing photos of the actor doing the stint.

“This year, sa pambihirang pagkakataon, isang aktor ang humawak ng camera para kumuha ng larawan ng mga direktor. Yes, it’s the big swap we didn’t see coming,” the caption read.

“Dalawang araw nakasama ng mga Cinemalaya 18 filmmakers ang aktor na si John Lloyd Cruz para kuhaan sila ng portraits,” it added.

Every year, Cinemalaya invites a photographer to take portraits of the filmmakers in the competition.

John Lloyd’s portraits will be displayed at the Cultural Center of the Philippines beginning August 5 as the “Cinemalaya 18: Breaking Through The Noise” opens.

There are 11 full-length film entries for this year’s Cinemalaya: 12 Weeks, Angkas,  Batsoy, Blue Room, Bula sa Langit, Ginhawa, Kaluskos, Kargo, Retirada, The Baseball Player, and Bakit Di Mo Sabihin? — LA, GMA News
