Does Padre Salvi's scalp get sunburn? Juancho Triviño answers questions on his hair from curious fans

Juancho Triviño has been exchanging banters with "Maria Clara at Ibarra" fans who could not help but bash or make fun of his character Padre Salvi.

He has been called "panot" by angry fans for his portrayal of the creepy priest, while others have been openly wondering why his hair is like that.

In the latest episode of his "One on Juancho" podcast, the Kapuso actor answered questions about Padre Salvi's hairstyle.

"Marami akong nakikitang mga tanong kung ano ba 'yung nasa ulo ko, kung sadya ba 'yun, 'yung pagiging panot," he said. "Padre Salvi does not have a panot. Tonsure po ang tawag dito mga kaibigan."

He then explained that the hairstyle—with part of the scalp shaved clean—was practiced by the Catholic Church as a sign of religious devotion and humility.

However, Juancho said he appreciates the memes about Padre Salvi's hair and encouraged the fans to keep them coming.

"Gets ko rin naman s'yempre kung bakit nakakatawa. Combination na lang ng paggiging evil ni Padre Salvi at pagiging hindi natin informed na ganun pala 'yung mga hairstyle nung mga unang panahon," he said.

Juancho said he is entertained by the memes and promised to do more content on them, as he has previously done on TikTok.

Asked whether the bald spot gets sunburn, Juancho laughed but assured the fans that his costume protects his head.

"Siguro si Padre Salvi pero ako hindi kasi s'yempre makapal siya na mukhang skin," he said.

Starring Dennis Trillo, Julie Anne San Jose, and Barbie Forteza, "Maria Clara at Ibarra" airs on GMA Telebabad on weekdays after "24 Oras."
