Joaquin Domagoso named Best Youth Actor by the New York Independent Cinema Awards

Joaquin Domagoso has won another international award.

For his performance in the film “That Boy in the Dark,” the Kapuso actor received the Best Youth Actor Award from the New York Independent Cinema Awards.

According to its official website, the award-giving body recognizes “the language of cinema, independent filmmaking and all the artists involved in film and script projects[.]”

Joaquin also won best actor awards at the 16th Toronto Film and Script Awards and Sweden’s Boden International Film Festival.

The movie follows Knight, who is suffering from a condition. While living with his grandfather, he experiences mysterious paranormal events. As secrets start to unfold, Knight’s strength is tested to face what he finds in the darkness.

Before “That Boy in the Dark,” Joaquin acted on GMA Network’s “First Yaya.”
