Connie Sison retires from 'Unang Hirit'

Today is Connie Sison's last day at "Unang Hirit."

After 13 fruitful years interviewing personalities from Pia Wurtzbach to Manny Pacquiao and covering local and international news, the UH co-host is bidding the morning show adieu.

"Nagpasya po ako at ang pamilya ko na magretiro na para maalagaan ang aking kalusugan at siyempre, ang aking bunso na talaga naman matagal na nagre-request," she said.

Connie most recently struggled with hypothyroidism and appendicitis.

But it's not all goodbye.

She will still be a part of GMA's "Balitanghali" and DZBB programs, as well as "Pinoy MD."

"Magpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat, ng ating mga 'UH' katambay all throughout the years," she said.

"Magdadalaw pa rin ako," she said.

Connie, who has also worked on "Balitanghali" for 10 years, recently paid it forward and offered some advice to aspiring journalists.
