“It’s Showtime” is made up of an eclectic team of hosts composed of actors, comedians, dancers, and OPM musicians — but it works.

In fact, Jugs Jugueta says their dynamics are similar to a basketball team where everyone has their own task to achieve the team’s goal.

In an interview on “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel,”  Itchyworms frontman began by saying Vhong Navarro is their point guard.

“Siya yung laging taga pasa, siya yung laging nagyayaya,” he said, adding Vhong is also the one who always plans their hangouts.

“Siya yung laging, ‘oh ngayong araw, kakain tayo dito,’ ganiyan. Or, ‘ngayong araw, lalabas tayo.’ Siya talaga yung ano — yung point guard,” he said.

Meanwhile for Jugs, “Vice Ganda is the shooting guard.”

“Taga puntos kasi may magpapasa ng joke. Papasa ni Vhong, si Vice Ganda yung mag-shu-shoot 'di ba, tapos mataas [ang] score [dahil] kay Vice," he said.

According to Jugs, he and fellow OPM rockstar Teddy Corpuz are tasked to do the dirty work.

“So kami yung parang taga-rebound, [taga] depensa, parang ganun,” he said.

The host then equated Jhong Hilario to a small forward but is also an all-arounder.

“Pwede rin siyang parang Lebron, pwede siya pumasok, pwede siya mag-shoot, [mag] sentro,” he said.

He also added that it is important for every team to have a full bench.

“Kailangan puno ang bench—a good supporting cast is very important, [maganda] yung coach, yung coaches di ba,” he said.

Finally, Jugs said, “Si Anne Curtis yung muse namin.”

It’s Showtime,” made a strong debut on GMA Network’s GTV on July 1 and was the top trending topic on Twitter worldwide.

Vice, Anne, Vhong, and Jhong were also among the guests at this year’s GMA Gala.
