Where does Hwang Min Hyun want to go in the Philippines?

Hwang Min Hyun just concluded his mini-concert at the New Front Theatre in Cubao over the weekend, where fans got the very best of the South Korean celebrity.

In a press conference on Saturday, Min Hyun shared his love for traveling. He even revealed which tourist spot he'd love to visit in the Philippines, if given a chance. 

"I really, really love traveling, and there are a lot of countries that I haven't visited yet," the "Alchemy of Souls" began. "So in the future, if I get to have more time, what I really want to do is just put my backpack on and do a world tour with my simple backpack."

So where does Min Hyun want to go in the Philippines?

It’s none other than Boracay — to see its famous sunset.

“I really heard that Boracay is a wonderful place, and it is famous for its sunset. So I really want to go to Boracay to capture myself with the sunset,” he said. 

Boracay Island, located in the municipality of Malay, Aklan, ranked 10th out of the 25 "Favorite Islands in the World" for 2023 with a score of 92.94, according to a survey by US-based travel website Travel+Leisure.

Meanwhile, a November 2021 study conducted by Mornings.co.uk revealed that Boracay is the best place in the Philippines for catching sunsets.

Min Hyun visited the country to treat his Filo Hwangdos to his “Unveil in Manila" mini-concert on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the New Frontier Theatre in Quezon City.

Presented by PULP Live World, his mini-con spanned for two hours with Min Hyun performing several songs from his discography, interacting with fans, participating in fun-filled games, covering songs, and dancing with NewJeans’ “Super Shy.”

He also unveiled his actor side by acting out some scenes from his dramas, such as “My Lovely Liar" and “Alchemy of Souls.”

His mini-con ended with a VCR fan project from Filo Hwangdos across the nation, showing their love and support for the beloved idol actor. In return, Min Hyun sang his song, “Smile,” putting a big smile on every fan in the venue.

The idol last visited the Philippines in August 2019 for NU’EST’s Segno concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

He debuted in March 2012 as the lead vocalist of the quintet boy group NU’EST under Pledis Entertainment. In 2017, he also joined the second season of the survival show Produce 101 and eventually became part of the project boy group Wanna One.

When Wanna One disbanded in January 2019, Min Hyun resumed his promotions with NU’EST until their disbandment in March 2022.

In February 2023, Min-hyun made his debut as a solo artist with "Truth or Lie."

Aside from being an idol, Min-hyun has also appeared in several Korean dramas. He is best known for his role as the nobleman Seo Yul in “Alchemy of Souls.” — LA, GMA Integrated News
