Sharon Cuneta teases possibility of 'Maging Sino Ka Man' sequel

Sharon Cuneta and Robin Padilla’s iconic “Maging Sino Ka Man” film might just be getting a sequel!

According to a report by Pep, Sharon teased the possibility during the birthday celebration of her friend, Hazel Villaflor, where she sang the movie’s theme song.

“As of last night, siyempre hindi pa sure. Sabi ni Boss Vic [del Rosario] sa 47th anniversary ng Viva kagabi. Baka mag-’Maging Sino Ka Man’ part two next year. So, we'll see,” the Megastar told Pep.

“Dahil sa schedule namin na tinitingnan namin sa 2024, hindi namin alam kung paano mapakasya ‘yung lahat na gagawin ko. Kasi siyempre, hindi lang ‘yun. Meron pang hindi ko puwedeng i-announce,” she added.

Sharon also confirmed that she has an upcoming movie with Senator Bong Revilla.

“So, halu-halo... di ba, hilung-hilo na tayo, hindi ko na alam ang araw," she said.

Maging Sino Ka Man” was released in 1991 and has become a Filipino pop culture classic since.

Sharon played Monique, who escapes her abusive stepfather and assumes a new identity as Digna. As fate would have it, she meets Carding—played by Robin—a petty thief, and they fall in love.

The movie was recently remade into a GMA Network series, starring Barbie Forteza as Monique and David Licauco as Carding.

Meanwhile, Sharon just had a reunion concert with Gabby Concepcion, titled Dear Heart. The former on- and off-screen partners are set to bring the concert to Cebu on November 17.

Sharon also has an upcoming movie with Alden Richards titled “A Mother and Son’s Story.” —Carby Basina/JCB, GMA Integrated News
