Sanya Lopez teases fans with what to expect in 'Pulang Araw'

Sanya Lopez is continuously making preparations for the upcoming series, “Pulang Araw.”

In Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, the Sparkle star shared that she was recently hospitalized due to a high fever, but assured that she’s now doing better.

“Medyo um-okay na rin naman ako. Uso siya ngayon, it’s not COVID naman pero ang sinasabi nga nila, uso talaga ngayon ‘yung flu, so normal naman, nagpa-check naman ako lahat, normal naman po,” Sanya said.

[I'm feeling a bit better now. It's going around these days; it's not COVID, but as they say, the flu is prevalent these days, so it's normal. I had myself checked, and everything is normal.]

Sanya will star with Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, and Alden Richards in the historical-action drama series.

“Kailangan ng doble effort, kailangan naming alamin kung paano maging isang vaudeville star. Meron itong mga tap dance na kung titingnan mo, papanoorin mo, hindi siya ganun kadali gawin,” she said.

[We need to double the effort; we need to learn how to become a vaudeville star. It involves tap dancing that, when you look at it, when you watch it, it's not that easy to do.]

Sanya added that there’s a possibility that they will also do some fight scenes.

“Panahon pa ng giyera ito, World War 2, panahon ng Hapon, so nandun rin ‘yung mga fight scene rin siguro kaming gagawin at ‘yun, kaya that’s why hinahanda ko rin ‘yung sarili ko,” she said.

[This is during the war, World War 2, the time of the Japanese occupation, so there will probably be fight scenes for us as well. That's why I am preparing myself for it.]

Sanya will play the role of Teresita, the half-sister of Barbie’s character, Adelina.

The story is written by Suzette Doctolero and will be directed by Dominic Zapata.

Sanya recently starred in "Mga Lihim ni Urduja” and “First Lady,” which was a sequel to her show "First Yaya.”
