Marian Rivera 'happy' to reunite with Heart Evangelista at Felipe Gozon's 84th birthday party

When Marian Rivera and Heart Evangelista’s reunion made the rounds online, netizens gave a resounding, “The world is healing!”

A report on "24 Oras" by Aubrey Carampel showed a closer look at the two stars with big smiles as they shared a warm hug, a high-five, and a quick conversation at the birthday party of Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, who recently announced that he's stepping down GMA Network's CEO after making the network the number one television station in the Philippines.

The event took place at the Isla Ballroom of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel on Saturday.

"Catch up lang kami ng mga kwentuhan," Marian said, when asked about their reunion. “And happy ako na nagkita kami."

The pair last worked together in 2011 for the comedy film “Temptation Island” with Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff.

Since then, the two stars have not been seen together, leading fans to speculate that they may not be on good terms.

Marian and Heart followed each other on Instagram in October, and was one of the trending topics in showbiz.

On their renewed friendship, Heart said, “Real queens support each other.” Marian also said that this happened “in God’s perfect time.”

The Global Fashion Icon and artist credited Marian for reaching out and talking to their common friends about the possibility of meeting up with each other.

Over the last few months, Heart attended fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, and New York. Marian, on the other hand, is working on her upcoming series, “Against All Odds,” with Gabby Concepcion.

Meanwhile, with Gozon's retirement, incumbent Chief Operating Officer (COO) Gilberto Duavit Jr. will take over as CEO while incumbent RGMA Network and GMA New Media Director Joel Marcelo Jimenez will chair the Executive Committee.

Gozon will remain as chairman of the board and will continue to serve as an adviser to the company. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
