Heart Evangelista on renewed friendship with Marian Rivera: 'Queens should always be supporting queens'

Heart Evangelista has opened up on her renewed friendship with Marian Rivera.

In an interview with GMA Network’s Aubrey Carampel at a fashion event, Heart said that she and Marian have always been okay as individuals, and that they have mutual friends. Heart said that her sister and Marian have also been talking for a while.

The global fashion icon said that she has not been doing interviews about this because “I don’t want it to be anything that’s for publicity. Something like that should be from your heart.”

“Marian and I, we’ve always liked each other," she added. "And it’s a true testament that you know, queens should always be supporting queens.”

Heart added that she and Marian have “always been okay.”

“Okay kaming dalawa as individuals, and so I guess it’s just a matter of time.”

Heart also said that she really appreciates Marian’s “very strong character,” as well as her kindness and heart.

Moreover, the fashionista and actress confirmed that she and Marian talk and message each other.

Heart said that at this point in her life, “Ayoko na ng kaaway, honestly.”

“Real queens support each other. It’s a testament that it’s really the people around us that makes things bad.”

Heart also gave the reminder: “Sometimes that person’s not our real enemy. It’s the people around that makes it worse. So, I’m happy.”

Asked if there is a chance for them to work on a project together, the Sparkle artist said she does not know as they are both busy.

“I think for me, what’s important is in the real world, we’re okay. And that for me, is a true queen,” she said.

Marian and Heart following each other on Instagram was one of the trending topics in showbiz in October, with netizens saying that the world is healing.

The pair last worked together in 2011 for the comedy film “Temptation Island” with Rufa Mae Quinto, Lovi Poe, and Solenn Heussaff.

Since then, the two stars have not been seen together, leading fans to speculate that they may not be on good terms.

Over the last few weeks, Heart attended fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, and New York.

Meanwhile, Marian is currently working on her upcoming series, “Against All Odds,” with Gabby Concepcion.

She also has an upcoming movie with her husband, Dingdong Dantes, titled “Rewind.” It is an official entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
