Dingdong Dantes to Marian Rivera after MIFF Best Actor win: 'This award is also yours as much as it is mine'

Dingdong Dantes dedicated his Best Actor award at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) to his wife and "Rewind" leading lady, Marian Rivera.

On Instagram, the Kapuso Primetime King posted several messages of gratitude following his win, which he shared with "Mallari" star Piolo Pascual.

Dingdong thanked his manager, "Rewind" director Mae Cruz Alviar, the film's producers, his family and friends, saving the best for last: his beloved wife.

"To my wife, my leading lady—you and our kids are always my inspiration, especially in this challenging grind in the entertainment industry," he said.

Dingdong said he could not have done it without her and her performance in "Rewind," which has become the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

"As Dad always says, 'everything comes from the Lord,' and I give back all the glory and honor with you, Letizia, and Sixto by my side," he said. "This award is also yours as much as it is mine."

The MIFF was held on Saturday (Manila time) in Los Angeles, California. The festival screened all 10 entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Aside from "Rewind," Dingdong starred in GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs' "Firefly," which won Best Picture in both MMFF and MIFF.

Dingdong and Marian currently star in their sitcom "Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa," which is now on its second season. It airs Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. after "24 Oras Weekend."

Dingdong also hosts "Family Feud" and "Amazing Earth," while Marian will have her primetime comeback with upcoming series "My Guardian Alien."
