Elle Villanueva, Derrick Monasterio wish for ‘Makiling’ book 2: ‘Ang dami pa sanang istorya’

The finale week of “Makiling” is on!

Ahead of its last episodes, Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio shared they are down for another season should the series be extended.

“I am super ready!” Elle said during the finale’s online media conference.

“Ready ba ang production? Kami, ready kami!” Derrick giddily followed.

According to Elle, they have been wishing for the Kapuso series to have another season even before they started working on the last scenes.

“‘Yun po ‘yung wish namin, sana magkaroon ng book two talaga,” the Sparkle star said. “Actually, we don’t want this to end talaga kasi ang dami pa sanang storya na puwedeng ma-inject, eh. ‘Yun nga lang, minsan, may mga bagay na, sabi nga ni Royce [Cabrera], nag-e-end. Pero sana po magkaroon ng book two.”

“Habang fresh pa, ‘di ba? Gawin na natin,” Derrick followed.

He also proudly shared that the series is doing so well thanks to the viewers. “Napaka-iconic lahat ng scenes. Lahat ng mga scenes sa Facebook, sobrang konting hours pa lang, ang dami nang views. Affected na affected din talaga ‘yung mga tao, tapos nahahati sila sa mga groups, may sari-sarili silang bias, nakakatuwa,” he said.

The actor continued, “Grabe ‘yung kapit nila sa ‘min na parang ito ‘yung pinakamalakas na kapit so far sa mga nagawa kong shows na invested lahat ng mga tao.”

“Makiling” marked the real-life couple’s return to GMA Afternoon Prime following “Return to Paradise.”

Earlier this month, Elle and Derrick were able to take a three-day break after six months of busy work.

"Makiling" is airing its final episodes until Friday at 4:00 p.m. after "Lilet Matias: Attorney-At-Law."
