Even Benjamin Alves doesn't know who killed Basil in 'Widow's War'
Benjamin Alves himself has no idea who killed Basil Palacios, his character in "Widows' War."
On Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Sparkle actor talked about his role in the murder-mystery series.
Basil, one of the fan-favorite characters in the show, died during his own birthday party. It was later revealed that he was poisoned.
"Even I don't know who killed Basil," he said.
Basil was the cousin of Paco (Rafael Rosell) and Rebecca (Rita Daniela). He was also the husband of Georgina Balay (Carla Abellana).
He also appeared to have secrets, which makes the viewers interested in him.
"May tinatago nga ba si Basil? Parang wala naman. Parang what you see is what you get. 'Yun nga lang he doesn't explain it. Kumbaga, he has no shame, he doesn't hide anything," Ben said.
"So I think in the next episodes malalaman n'yo 'yung sikreto [ni Basil]. The only secret now is sino nga ba ang naglason kay Basil," he added.
Benjamin then also talked about Basil's zesty and sassy attitude that he has yet to unleash in real life.
"I think everyone has a zesty side and a sassy side. I just think for me hindi ko pa siya napapalabas. In workshops I've explored it, that zesty and sassy side, that B-side kumbaga. It'll always be inside me," he said.
Benjamin bid goodbye to Basil last week. He previously said he enjoyed playing the character and sharing scenes with the show's lead stars, Bea Alonzo and Carla Abellana.
"Widows' War," a spinoff of Kapuso murder mystery series "Widows' Web" and "Royal Blood," airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8:50 p.m. after "Pulang Araw."
It also stars Tonton Gutierrez, Jean Garcia, Rita Daniela, Jeric Gonzales, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, James Graham, and more.
