Yasser Marta pays tribute to Barbie Hsu with song cover of 'Meteor Garden' OST

Following Barbie Hsu’s untimely passing, Yasser Marta paid a touching tribute to the “Meteor Garden” star.

On Instagram, the Sparkle actor shared a video of him playing his guitar and singing the Tagalog version of “Can’t Help Fallin,’” the official soundtrack of the hit Taiwanese series that aired in 2001.

“Our millennial heart is crying. RIP Shan Cai,” Yasser wrote, referring to Barbie’s character in the series.

“Can’t Help Fallin’” was originally sung by Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu. Its Tagalog version performed by Josh Santana was released in 2004, shortly after “Meteor Garden” aired in the Philippines.

The wildly popular series follows the story of a poor girl, Shan Cai (Barbie), and her encounters with four wealthy boys, Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan), Xi Men (Ken Chu), Mei Zuo (Vanness Wu), Hua Ze Lei (Vic Chou), at school.

Previously, Ken and Jerry posted individual tributes to the late star.

Actress Rainie Yang also took time to honor the actress who was her best friend in the series.

Barbie passed away at the age of 48 due to pneumonia. The news was confirmed by her family and her agent through South China Morning Post and Focus Taiwan, Monday.

She is survived by her husband, South Korean musician DJ Koo, and her two children from her previous marriage with Wang Xiao Fei, whom she divorced in 2021.
