Maria Isabel Lopez regrets turning down a film by the late Lino Brocka
Maria Isabel Lopez shared on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" that she regrets turning down a film by the late National Artist for Film Lino Brocka back in the day.
In the episode, Tito Boy asked the actress and Miss Universe Philippines 1982 titleholder whether she has any regrets doing sexy films in the past.
According to Maria Isabela, she has no regrets doing those films, but she regrets focusing more on the talent fee.
"Wala akong regrets. Ang only regret ko lang siguro is I focused more on the money I make, on the talent fee, and not on like who's the director," she said.
"So there was a time na I turned down a Lino Brocka film dahil lang ang budget is so little, so 'yun siguro isa sa mga regrets ko."
She did not mention which film of the late filmmaker she turned down.
During her guesting, Maria Isabel also told Tito Boy that all is well now between her and Binibining Pilipinas following the controversy in 2013 when she was not invited to the pageant’s 50th anniversary.
She added that she plans to attend the pageant next year.
Maria Isabel has starred in various films, including Celso Ad Castillo's "Isla" (1985), "Daughters of Eve"(1985), "Kinatay,"(2009) "Ways of the Sea" (2010), "Lorna" (2014), "Ma' Rosa," and many more.
She won Best Supporting Actress at the Gawad Tanglaw and Golden Screen Awards for her performance in "Kinatay."
