Judy Ann Santos on Best Actress win at Fantasporto Festival: 'Nandoon 'yung hope'

Judy Ann Santos previously received the Best Actress award for her role in "Espantaho" at the 45th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal in March.

Despite being the award-winning actress she is, Judy Ann said she doesn't let those recognitions get in her head.

"Sa bawat awards night, hangga't maaari sinisigurado ko na hindi ko i-feed sa sarili ko na ay maganda 'yung trabaho ko dito, because it could be anything. It's anybody's ball game," the actress said on Thursday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda."

"Kahit sino naman ang maganda ang trabaho dahil lahat naman ng artista tinatrabaho na magkaroon ng magandang pelikula," she added.

Although Judy Ann held onto the hope that her name would be called, she made it clear that it never reached a point where she would claim the recognition for herself.

"Nandoon 'yung hope, pero wala doon 'yung, 'Akin 'yan! Dapat akin 'yan!' Isa sa mga bagay na pinasok ko sa sarili ko, never akong aangkin ng hindi nararapat sa akin," she said.

Fantasporto International Film Festival is the biggest film festival in Portugal and one of the 25 leading festivals of the world.

Aside from Fantasporto, Judy Ann also bagged the Best Actress Award at the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival for the same movie in December 2024. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
