Jo Berry says Nora Aunor has a huge contribution to her showbiz career

Jo Berry credited the late Nora Aunor for having a huge contribution to her showbiz career.

According to Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" Friday, the Kapuso actress was saddened by the sudden passing of the Superstar and National Artist but said she was able to Nora how much she has affected her career.

"Nalungkot ako talaga kasi sinabi ko rin po 'yun sa kaniya na napakalaki ng kontribusyon niya sa career na meron ako ngayon," Jo said.

Jo starred with Nora in "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law." The series was Nora's last TV guesting before she died on April 16. Nora also starred as Nanay Nelia with Jo in the 2018 GMA series "Onanay."

Nora was laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City on Tuesday.

Nora passed away from acute respiratory failure. She was 71 years old.

Meanwhile, fans of "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law," which aired its final episode in February, can see more of Atty. Lilet as the little lawyer with a big heart has crossed over to "Mga Batang Riles."

In the show, she will help the residents of Sitio Liwanag in their fight against injustice.

''Kaya pala 'di ako makabitaw, kasi meron pa pala," she said."Ganun naman siya lagi 'di ba, pinagtatanggol niya 'yung mga nasa tama,' she said.

Miguel Tanfelix, who stars as Kidlat in the show, is happy about the show's story development because of the hope it gives the residents of Sitio Liwanag.

"'Yung mga taong pinagdadamutan ng karapatan, ng mga hustisya, siya 'yung mga magtatanggol. Andiyan si Atty. Lilet para ipaglaban kami," he said.

"Mga Batang Riles" airs from Monday to Friday at 8:50 p.m. on GMA Prime
