Michelle Dee explains why she didn’t perform ‘Reyna’ at 2025 Miss Universe Philippines coronation night
Michelle Dee would've loved to perform her first single “Reyna” at the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 pageant and in fact she thought should was going to at Friday night's coronation event.
“I would’ve loved to. I thought I was [going to perform]. I saved it for Miss Universe. I actually respectfully declined some of my other performances in the process. I mean, Miss Universe is my home. Of course it’s a platform I would love to perform in,” Michelle explained on Monday’s episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda."
But "the show went in a different direction and that’s fine. It’s all love. It’s all kindness and it was an amazing show,” she said.
“I know they have reasons and I know they weren’t trying to offend me naman or anything," Michelle said.
A collaboration between GMA Music and Star Music, "Reyna" is composed by Angelica Tagadtad, arranged and mixed by Theo Martel, with vocal arrangement by Jonathan Manalo and produced by Manalo and Rox Santos.
She released the song in March and by April, “Reyna" climbed to No. 4 on Spotify's Viral Songs Philippines list.
Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 pageant was held on May 2 with Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province winning the title. — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News
