Joyce Pring gives graduation speech: ‘I’m finally here, and so are you’

Joyce Pring was given the honor of delivering a speech at the graduation ceremony of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.

The content creator and host shared her speech in an Instagram Reel.

She started by opening up about her 15-year college journey.

“It took me 15 years to arrive at this moment. As I stand here today I'm not only celebrating the completion of my college education, I’m fulfilling a promise I once made to my 18-year-old self who had to set aside her academic aspirations in order to work and to survive the harsh realities of life,” Joyce said.

“It took me 15 years to fulfill this dream, but by God's grace, I am here. I’m finally here, and so are you,” she added.

Joyce added that every student had to fight their own battles to reach graduation.

“Our journeys were not without sacrifice, our triumphs often came with trials. As we crossed this symbolic finish line, we carry not only our gratitude for the pivotal moments that shaped us, but also a renewed resolve to pursue purpose with the same courage and conviction that brought us here,” she said.

On behalf of the students, Joyce thanked the university and the professors “for providing an education rooted in values, integrity, excellence, and intellectual acuity” and for their commitment in equipping us to thrive in our respective fields.”

Joyce also thanked the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program for giving her the opportunity to complete her studies.

“You know, when I became a mom, I thought that I can only dream for my children. Now I know that I can dream with them.”

Joyce then thanked the support systems, or the students’ families and loved ones who were there throughout university life, with the “patience, love, and encouragement [that] fueled our dreams.”

Joyce personally thanked her husband Juancho Trivino, their kids Alonzo Eliam and Agnes Eleanor, and the rest of her family “for being my constant inspiration in pursuing this dream.” She also dedicated her graduation to her family.

She also credited God, as this academic achievement was also a testament to His faithfulness and grace.

“As we step into this new chapter, let us persevere with purpose along the path God is graciously laying before us,” Joyce said.

Joyce graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta. She was also awarded Best Thesis.

Joyce had to stop her university studies at 18 years old due to financial reasons, but then went back to school in 2023
