'The Clash' Final 4 reveals what the competition means to them
Joining a national singing competition is no easy feat, but “The Clash” Final 4 aren’t wasting the opportunity to prove they deserve their spot on the stage.
For Liafer Deloso, Juary Sabith, Arabelle Dela Cruz, and Jong Madaliday, making it this far in “The Clash” is more than just about singing, it’s about family, growth, and self-belief.
In a group interview with GMA News Online, the Final 4 opened up about what it means for them to reach the final stage of the competition.
According to Liafer, her family has been her biggest motivation in joining the contest. “Sumali ako sa ‘The Clash’ dahil sa parents ko, sa family ko, para ma share yung talent ko sa singing,” she said.
"Gusto ko rin po ng exposure and sa mga supporters ko rin, gusto ko maipakita sa kanila na kaya ko pa lumaban,” she added.
Meanwhile, for Juary, reaching the Final 4 was something she never expected but worked hard for despite challenges. “Audition pa lang, ang hirap na makipagsabayan eh,” she said.
“So parang noong nakarating ako sa Final 4, it’s a great privilege and blessing sa akin and talagang hindi ko ine-expect na ganoon yung mangyayari,” she added.
Juary said reaching the Final 4 is her way of fighting the negative comments being thrown at her.
“Kung doon ka lang tututok sa negative comments at hindi ka maniniwala sa sarili mo, parang doon tititgil ‘yung mundo mo,” she said.
“Sumali ako dito hindi para i-please ‘yung ibang tao kundi para sa sarili ko at sa mga taong naniniwala sakin,” she added.
As for Arabelle, her second attempt in “The Clash” is her chance to showcase her growth as a singer.
“Ito na ‘yung time para i-prove ko na kung ano ‘yung naging pagkukulang ko before, kung ano pa ‘yung pwede kong i-improve, meron akong platform to showcase that improvement,” she said.
“Of course, this is my way of showing people na hindi ko tinalikuran ‘yung talent na sinuportahan niyo ko,” she added.
Last but not least, Jong, the lone male contestant, said his mother was the driving force behind his decision to join singing competition again.
“Nag-push sa akin to join this competition is my nanay, kasi sabi niya tumatanda na daw siya, gusto niya ako makita sa TV ulit,” he said.
“Noong umabot ako sa Final 4, nag-iba ‘yung mindset ko na para lang to sa nanay ko, inisip ko na I need to win this for myself,” he added.
