Martin Del Rosario takes on macho dancer role in 'Magpakailanman'

Martin Del Rosario is set to star in a "Magpakailanman" episode, where he tackled a heavy drama role that required him to learn new skills.

According to Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Thursday, Martin will play the role of a macho dancer. He took lessons to make his portrayal convincing.

Martin's character in the episode faced numerous life challenges but ultimately embraced opportunities, a journey that resonated with the actor.

"Ang daming dagok, problema, mga challenges na dumating sa buhay ni John. Pero ang maganda naman sa kaniya, hindi siya sumuko. Kumbaga parang lahat ng opportunity ginrab niya," he said.

Joining him in the episode is Angela Alarcon, who plays his wife. Her character will grapple with accepting her husband's profession.

"Kasi nga trabaho niya is medyo, 'di ba, not so good 'pag family man, 'di ba? So parang dito ko mate-test kung gaano ko ba siya kamahal, kung tatanggapin ko pa siya, kung ano ba ang role niya sa buhay ko at tsaka sa family ko," Angela said.

Also part of the cast are Betong Sumaya, Dave Bornea, Alma Concepcion, Beverly Salviejo, and Marx Topacio.

Meanwhile, Martin's film "Beyond the Call of Duty" is currently being screened in cinemas.

Martin is known for playing Prince Zardoz in "Voltes V: Legacy." He also starred in GMA Prime series "Asawa ng Asawa Ko" and briefly worked with Sanya Lopez in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre." —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News
