Will Ashley says Alden Richards inspired him to become an actor

If there's one person who inspired Will Ashley to become an actor, it was Alden Richards.

The Nation's Son graced the recent episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," where he opened up about his journey in "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" and his life as a child actor.

According to Will, he became a child actor because of a teleserye he watched, which starred Alden.

"Na-inspire po ako sa pinapanood kong teleserye sa GMA na nandoon po si Kuya Alden," Will said. "Si Kuya Alden po talaga 'yung idol ko before pa."

After seeing Alden on screen, Will decided to try his luck in acting.

"Sabi ko, bakit hindi ko siya i-try? Feeling ko magiging happy ako. Doon po nag-start 'yun na nag-workshop ako. Nag-start ako sa commercial," the Sparkle star said.

Will later auditioned for the 2013 Kapuso series "Villa Quintana" and was eventually accepted for the role of young Isagani. Since then, acting projects came pouring in to Will.

"Thank God, nagtuloy-tuloy po 'yung mga projects," he said.

Will appeared in "Mulawin vs Ravena," "Contessa," "Prima Donnas," "The Fake Life," "Mano Po Legacy: The Flower Sisters," "Unbreak My Heart," "Prinsesa ng City Jail," and more.

The actor finished his PBB journey as the Second Big Placer alongside his Kapamilya duo Ralph De Leon.

Will has three upcoming movies. He will star in "Bar Boys: After School," the GMA Pictures-Star Cinema-Regal Films collaboration "Love You So Bad," and the Adolf Alix horror movie "Poon."

He is also set to have a solo concert on October 18 at the New Frontier Theater. —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
