September 21 rallies: Angel Aquino joins anti-corruption protest in Luneta

Angel Aquino was among the Filipino celebrities who took part in the September 21 rally at Rizal Park in Manila, dubbed "Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon na Laban sa Korapsyon."

In an interview with GMA Integrated News reporter Glen Juego, Angel said she has long been hoping for better conditions in the country.

"'Yung kalagayan ng mga tao, lahat ng Pilipino sana mas maging mabuti, kaya lang hindi nangyayari 'yun at palala siya nang palala through the years," she said.

"So now, ganito pa rin, actually, even worse," she added. "I think it's time for all of us to really say something, and I hope that today will matter, and I hope it creates a dent, at the very least."

Angel also expressed her hopes that the rally would spark change, even if not immediately.

"I hope this starts a change somehow, people will see that other people are actually concerned," she said. "We really need to move as one people, so sana other people will hear, other people will see, other people will follow."

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, another rally called the "Trillion Peso March" is scheduled at the EDSA People Power Monument.
