Mika Salamanca opens up on bashing that made her cry

Mika Salamanca is no stranger to hate, having experienced being bashed at such a young age.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" Big Winner said that while she usually ignores the negative remarks she receives, some bashing makes her cry.

"More on 'pag about po sa family ko. Kasi ako sinabi ko kanina pumasok ako sa industry na 'to, ni-ready ko ang sarili ko. Alam ko 'yung pinapasukan ko. Pero 'yung family ko kasi, hindi sila pumasok sa industry na 'to, hindi sila kasama sa akin," Mika said.

"So hindi sila ready sa kung anong pwedeng matanggap nila so pagka binabatikos po sila, kapag sila 'yung binabash, doon ako nasasaktan talaga. Doon ako nagiging super defensive. Ang sakit po 'non," she added.

Mika was among the 20 housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." She finished as the season's Big Winner alongside her Kapamilya duo Brent Manalo.

She recently launched her children's book "Lipad" at the Manila International Book Fair 2025.

Mika currently appears as Anaca in "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," which airs weekdays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." —Jade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA Integrated News
