Cassy and Mavy Legaspi admit pressure working with parents Carmina, Zoren for ‘Hating Kapatid’

Cassy and Mavy Legaspi are set to star with their parents, Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi, for “Hating Kapatid,” an experience they proudly embrace but also admit comes with pressure.

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” Wednesday, the upcoming Kapuso Afternoon Prime series will come with plenty of plot twists and will tackle unusual family issues.

Carmina shared that even though they are a real family, portraying one on screen is not as simple as it seems.

“Kasi akala niyo nga, since we are a family, parang automatic pamilya kami dito. Like what I said, meron ngang panlilinlang na nangyari kaya kahit ‘yung role ko ay nalito at naguluhan nang bonggang-bongga,” she said.

Zoren, meanwhile, revealed that the project took a long time to materialize as they waited for their schedules to align.

“It took like almost a year or so mabuo itong ‘Hating Kapatid.’ Ako dapat nasa ‘Sanggang Dikit,’ they pulled me out dahil kailangan daw talaga ako nandito kasi they were playing with the idea na what if tanggalin natin ang isang Legaspi family, lagyan natin ng isa. Then they figured out na parang may mali ata,” he said.

For Cassy, the experience of working with her parents is both an opportunity and a source of pressure.

“They guide naman, but the rest ikaw na ang bahala, so that’s what I love. But ‘yun nga, I feel the pressure because hello? Hello? This package. That’s crazy,” she said.

Mavy also expressed how much he values the project, describing it as a chance to show viewers who he truly is.

“I really take pride and I take this work very seriously because every time I’m that character, every time I’m Tyrone, I always make sure that I get to send a message to the viewers na ganoon talaga si Mavy Legaspi sa totoong buhay,” he said.

Earlier, Carmina admitted that the project is challenging for them.

"First time namin na iiyak as a family. 'Yun talaga sabi ko nga opposite eh kasi in real life, alam mo 'yung magaan lang, tawanan lang, kulitan. Ito 'yun talagang 'yung puro mga iyakan, confrontations which is going to be challenging for all of us," she said.
