Cianne Dominguez opens up about forgiveness after experiencing harassment

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of sexual harassment

Cianne Dominguez opened up about the sexual harassment she experienced in 2024 and what it taught her.

During her guesting on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Thursday, the “It’s Showtime” host shared that if there’s one thing she learned from what happened, it is "forgiveness."

“Ako more on forgiveness sa mga tao. Ako kasi mabigat sa loob ko ‘yung hindi mag-forgive na kahit anong gawin sa ''kin,” Cianne said.

She also shared that she was able to bravely face her harasser, identified as Ronnie Gray, a gay bar dancer and performer.

“Hinarap ko po siya. As in. Matapang naman po ako sa ganoong klaseng bagay talagang inano ko naman siya na, 'Kung nag-sorry ka lang sa akin noong una papatawarin naman kita.' Nilabanan niya kasi ako so binigyan ko siya ng ano…parang hinayaan ko kung ano ang pwedeng mangyari,” Cianne shared.

According to Cianne, she had wished for Ronnie to find God during the time they were going through the legal process.

“Actually ngayon ko lang 'to sasabihin. Noong lumabas kami noong kinausap ko siya, sabi ko, 'Sana nakita mo si Lord sa loob, sana parang nagkaroon ka ng relationship with Him sa loob,'" she said.

"Like ‘yung parang inaareglo na namin. ‘Yung mga hearing na po. Triny kami na pag-ayusin," she added.

Cianne shared that during their conversation, Ronnie broke down in tears, and she even offered a prayer for him.

In the same interview, she revealed that her fellow "It's Showtime" co-host Jackie was there for her and was the one who accompanied her to the police station.

“Thankful po ako na nandoon si Ate Jackie. As in,” she shared.

“Sinamahan ko siya sa presinto. Parang ako ‘yung nag-iinterrogate na ‘Ba't mo siya sinundan?'” Jackie added.

According to a report by GMA Network, Ronnie Gray allegedly harassed Cianne and attempted to kiss her at her condominium unit on the night of April 11, 2024. Gray was placed under police custody and faced charges of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and trespassing.

Cianne’s father, John Florendo, also spoke out about the incident in a social media post. He claimed that Ronnie followed the host to her condo unit, where he tried to kiss her. Fortunately, Cianne was able to stop his advances, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.
