KMJS' 'Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie' pictorial unveiled

GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs offered a glimpse into the pictorial for "Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho's" (KMJS) upcoming "Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie."

According to Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras" Thursday, the movie is based on true accounts that will be brought to life by Sparkle artists Sanya Lopez, Jillian Ward, and Miguel Tanfelix, as well as Elijah Canlas.

"PInagmamalaki ko na 'yung yearly na 'Gabi ng Lagim' na ginagawa ng KMJS ay worthy to be put on the big screen. Matagal na naming sinasabi ''yan, matagal ko na ring hinihirit," said Jessica Soho.

The film will feature three horror stories that will revolve around a haunted ship, a possession, and aswangs.

Sanya expressed her excitement for the movie, which will see her play the role of a berbalang.

"Nakakaexcite dito, abangan ninyo kung ano ba 'yung ganap ko talaga dito kasi it's about berbalang. Aswang siya na hindi buhay na tao ang kinakain niya kundi 'yung mga patay. Based 'to sa true events natin and galing 'to sa mga kwento ng taga Southern Mindanao," Sanya shared.

Jillian also shared that "Gabi ng Lagim: The Movie" won't just terrify viewers; it also has lessons to impart.

"Hindi lang po siya nakakatakot, may lesson din siya, may deeper meaning  po 'yung movie," she said.

Soho, for her part, is grateful that the "Gabi ng Lagim" stories are now coming to the big screen.

"Aminin natin, napakasarap naman talagang pagkuwentuhan 'yung mga kababalaghan. Maliit pa tayo hanggang sa ating pagtanda, 'yung mga kuwento ng kababalaghan, they live on," said the multi-awarded Kapuso broadcast journalist.

"Never in my wildest dreams na may mangyayaring ganito, pero dream come true ito para sa staff, lalo na 'yung mga producers ng KMJS."

Gabi ng Lagim” is the annual Halloween special of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho." This year is its 13th year featuring spine-tingling real-life horror stories.

In 2024, the show called for submissions of true-to-life horror stories from the audience for a chance to be featured in the movie.
