Jasmine Curtis-Smith outraged, saddened by corruption in PH: 'They keep on becoming greedier'

Jasmine Curtis-Smith expressed her outrage and sadness over corruption in the Philippine government.

The Kapuso actress was among the celebrities who attended the rallies on September 21 in protest of the alleged anomalous flood control projects in the country

During her guesting on Friday's "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Jasmine shared that aside from anger, she feels sad whenever she sees students and families suffering during calamities.

"'Yung mga estudyante natin, 'yung mga pamilya na tuwing bagyo kahit walang bagyo walang proper access sa pag-aaral sa daan na pwede nilang gamitin pangtawid papuntang eskwela," she said

According to the actress, she also feels outraged because these are basic things that Filipinos should have access to.

"We see it year after year and walang bagong nangyayari, wala silang ginagawang changes and they keep on becoming even greedier. Year after year nakikita natin 'yun. How selfish? Nakaka-confuse paano nila nasisikmura 'yun, Tito Boy," she said.

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), the body tasked to investigate the anomalous flood control projects, has already begun its probe.

It comprises ICI chairperson and retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Andres Reyes Jr., and ICI members former Public Works Secretary Rogelio “Babes” Singson, and SGV & Co. country managing partner Rosanna Fajardo.

Former Philippine National Police chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr., on the other hand, was appointed as ICI special adviser, following the resignation of Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong from the commission.
