Mavy Legaspi on handling past controversies: ‘The truth set us free, kept us at peace’
Mavy Legaspi opened up about the lessons he learned from his past relationship controversies and how his family handled them.
On Thursday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Mavy was asked how the issue affected his family dynamics.
The Sparkle star admitted that it was not the easiest for them.
“I mean, of course, I was disappointed in myself. Because I knew I could say a lot of things, but I'm a man of my word. I don't fight the opposite sex. It will always be [in] the Bible for me,” he said.
Per Mavy, this principle is based on his deep respect for his mother, grandmother, and sister.
“I just made sure na I wouldn't be so hard-headed next time. Everything that I'll do will always be out of peace. And they know that,” he said.
Mavy shared that despite the public drama, his family remained solid and unaffected by rumors.
“We were still intact. You know, the truth set us free. The truth kept us at peace. And there was really no sermon because kilala nila ako eh. You know, whatever the people were saying, hindi talaga siya totoo. And I take pride in that talaga,” he said.
He added that the experience made him more resilient and deepened his faith.
“It brought me closer to God, which is definitely something I'm really grateful for. Because everything now, I leave it to His hands and I became more God-fearing,” he said.
Mavy is now in a relationship with Ashley Ortega, who also previously said that she was unfazed by the surrounding controversy regarding his split from his previous relationship.
Meanwhile, Mavy is set to star in “Hating Kapatid” with his family, Carmina, Zoren, and Cassy.
It will begin airing on October 13 at 2:30 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
