‘Green Bones,’ ‘Balota' win big at Gawad Parangal ng Bayaning Pilipino
“Green Bones” and “Balota” reigned victorious at the Gawad Parangal ng Bayaning Pilipino, taking home several awards.
“Green Bones” reaped two awards, including Best Film and Best Actor for Dennis Trillo, who was recognized for his role as Domingo Zamora.
Leading the awards for “Balota” is Marian Rivera, who brought home the Best Actress award for her role as Teacher Emmy in the 2024 Cinemalaya film. Meanwhile, Kip Oebanda was hailed as Best Director.
Earlier, the two GMA Pictures-produced films each reaped three awards at the Manila Film Critics Circle Awards.
Previously, Marian won Best Actress at the FAMAS Awards 2025 for her role as Teacher Emmy in "Balota," while "Green Bones" bagged Best Screenplay (Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza).
She also took home the Best Actress Award at the EDDYs Awards 2025 in July.
Meanwhile, Dennis earlier won the Best Actor at the Gawad Urian 2025 for his role in “Green Bones.” The Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Best Picture also took home the Best Production Design award.
