Meet Sofia Pablo, the first Kapuso housemate of ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0’
“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” has officially revealed its first two housemates, with Sofia Pablo announced as the first Kapuso artist to join the roster.
With the moniker of “Ang Strong-Willed Sunshine ng Quezon City,” the Sparkle star joins Star Magic rookie actor Joaquin Arce as the first housemates of the upcoming season.
But who exactly is Sofia Pablo? Here are some facts about the teen star.
1. A former child star
A former child star, Sofia launched her showbiz career in 2016 when she was 10 years-old. She later on starred in several Kapuso series such as “Prima Donnas,” “Luv Is: Caught in His Arms,” and most recently “Prinsesa ng City Jail" and the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture "Green Bones" where she played the impressive role of the deaf-mute character Ruth Pineda.
She is set to lead the upcoming horror film “Huwag Kang Titingin" with Allen Ansay.
2. She is a freshman college student in UST Angelicum College
Sofia juggles her life as an actress and a student. She is currently a freshman student at the University of Santo Tomas - Angelicum College in Quezon City, pursuing a degree in communication.
Last June, the “Prinsesa ng City Jail” actress graduated from senior high school at the same institution with flying colors.
3. The other half of Team Jolly
Sofia is the other half of the Kapuso love team called Team Jolly alongside Allen.
In a May 2023 interview, Allen said that their love team name was made by their fans.
"Ang tawag po talaga namin sa isa't isa before is AlFia po talaga," Allen said. "Tapos nagkaroon po kami ng mga fans na talagang andiyan po buong pandemic, sumuporta po sa amin at sila po 'yung bumuo nung Team Jolly talaga, kaya nabuo si Jollyboy at Jollygirl."
As a love team, Team Jolly starred in several projects together such as "Prinsesa ng City Jail," "Luv Is: Caught in His Arms," and "In My Dreams."
Not only that, but they go to the same school, too, and share the same course!
4. Fashion model
Aside from being an actress, Sofia is also into modeling, gracing the runways of fashion events such as the Bench Fashion Week in 2024.
5. A talented dancer
Sofia is passionate about dance and has flexed her fiery moves in “All-Out Sunday." Among her memorable performances are “Taki Taki" and "Sports Car," to name a few.
6. A voice actress
Sofia has also dabbled in voice acting. She was the voice behind Serena in the rerun of the Tagalog dub of “Pokemon XYZ,” which aired on GMA Network in 2019.
