'Encantadia' fans bid painful goodbye to Sang'gre Pirena

'Encantadia' fans bid painful goodbye to Sang'gre Pirena

"Encantadia" fans are mourning the death of Sang'gre Pirena (Glaiza De Castro).

On Tuesday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre," Pirena went to Hathoria to strengthen its defenses after the peace talks between the Sang'gres and Mitena (Rhian Ramos) failed.

She sent Flamarra (Faith Da Silva), Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), and Soldarius (Luis Hontiveros) to go to Sapiro, while she bid Terra (Bianca Umali) and Deia (Angel Guardian) to stay in Adamya.

After giving orders to a soldier in Hathoria, Pirena dodged a slew of arrows shot against her. One arrow caught her on the thigh and slowly weakened her, but she drew her weapons, Silab and Alab, and readied to fight against the attacking Mine-a-ve forces.

Cassiopeia (Solenn Heussaff) received a vision of what was to come and sent Griffa to warn Terra. After receiving the message, Terra and Deia used the ivictus to come to Pirena's aid.

They arrived just in time before Olgana (Bianca Manalo) could shoot the weakening Pirena with her bow. Deia took on her mother while Terra and Pirena fought the soldiers.

Olgana defeated Deia and aimed her arrow at Terra, but Pirena used the ivictus to block it with her own body. Her death mirrored the fate of her own mother, Mine-a (Marian Rivera).

Flamarra and Adamus later arrived on the battlefield, but they were too late. Terra tried to heal Pirena with the Brilyante ng Lupa, but Olgana held her in place.

Flamarra lashed out and eventually got her free. Terra tried to heal Pirena again, but the voice of Harahen, the Kambal-Diwa of the earth gem, said her powers could no longer bring back someone who already passed away.

The retres then arrived to fetch Pirena and take her soul to Devas.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans expressed their grief for Pirena, who became a beloved character in "Sang'gre" for serving as a mentor to the new generation of Sang'gres.

Others praised Glaiza for portraying Pirena with fierceness.

"You made us believe in her. every tear, every look, every word you carried so much truth and emotion that we forgot she was just a character. Pirena became real because of you," one user said.

"From being a villain to sacrificing her life for the new generation. One of the most well-written and loved character. She’s been carrying ECS from the start up until now. Glaiza portrayed Pirena so well and she will always be iconic," another said.
