Miss Universe Organization reaffirms 4 official competition stages, no form of ‘preference or advantage’

Miss Universe Organization reaffirms 4 official competition stages, no form of ‘preference or advantage’

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has reaffirmed that there are only four official stages of evaluation for the pageant and nothing more.

In an official statement issued on Tuesday morning, MUO welcomed all the delegates to Thailand, where the Miss Universe 2025 competition is set to commence.

Addressing the competing beauty queens from all over the world, the organization said, “You have each arrived here after years of effort, passion, and dedication.”

“You are the pride of your nations, and the living symbol of what Miss Universe represents, women of strength, purpose, and inspiration," it added before reiterating the four official stages of evaluation: personal interview, national costume presentation, evening gown presentation, and swimsuit presentation.

“These are the only moments that will be considered by the official judges in determining the outcome of the competition,” the statement read.

“No delegate will receive any form of preference or advantage outside of these four official categories. The integrity of this process is absolute and will be upheld with the utmost professionalism," MUO continued.

Reiterating its commitment to the welfare and dignity of all delegates, MUO said, “We will not, under any circumstances, allow your image, presence, or identity to be used in any way that diminishes your worth or the values of this organization.”

Over the weekend, Miss Universe Thailand’s (MUT) official social media pages posted about a “Special Dinner & Talk Show,” encouraging netizens to vote for Miss Universe candidates through Facebook and Instagram likes and shares.

But on Monday, MUO released a statement saying the said event is “not authorized.”

MUT later responded, saying that as the officially licensed host organization, they are within their rights “to manage and execute promotional activities within our territory.”

On Sunday, Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo arrived in Bangkok for the Miss Universe 2025 competition.

The beauty queen from Quezon Province is vying for the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown. The coronation night will be held on November 21.
