Ahtisa Manalo reminds public to prepare for Typhoon Uwan: 'Praying for everyone's safety'
Ahtisa Manalo urged the public to take precautionary measures as the Philippines prepares for Typhoon Uwan.
On Facebook, Miss Universe Philippines 2025 advised everyone to stay alert and prioritize safety.
“Lumikas sa mas ligtas na lugar. May sapat na distansya sa mga puno na maaaring matumba sa lakas ng hangin. Make sure na nasa lugar na hindi aabutin ng baha,” Ahtisa wrote.
The Filipina beauty queen also reminded the public to store enough food, water, and supplies, and to keep gadgets fully charged.
“And huwag po natin kakalimutan mga pets natin dahil they’re also part of our family. Praying for everyone’s safety,” she said.
As of 11 a.m., weather bureau PAGASA declared eight areas in Luzon and Visayas under Tropical Weather Cyclone Signal (TWCS) No. 2.
"The highest Wind Signal that will likely be hoisted throughout its passage is Wind Signal No. 5," PAGASA said.
Areas not covered by wind signals were expected to experience occasional gusty conditions reaching strong to gale-force strength over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao on Saturday and Sunday.
Ahtisa is currently in Thailand for this year’s Miss Universe competition.
In her “Beyond the Crown” entry, the Philippine bet championed youth empowerment and leadership development.
