John Arcilla asks for prayers for pet dog with epilepsy
John Arcilla expressed his anxieties over his 14-year-old furbaby, Dindin, who suffers from epilepsy.
In a Facebook post, the award-winning actor shared shots of Dindin, who has an attached drip tube.
“I don’t play favorites — not at all. But my little 14-year-old Dindin… she has chosen her favorite human, and it happens to be me. So forgive me,” John said in his post.
John said Dindin has been blind for half her life, "yet she remains fun-loving, warm, and endlessly content with us at home."
Now that Dindin is suffering from epilepsy, John is devastated "watching this gentle little soul go through her episodes right in front of my eyes… it’s the saddest chapter of my life with my dogs.”
John said he feels awkward posting about his dog’s condition “maybe because it hurts so much.”
“Maybe because I’m still trying to understand why I’m sharing it at all. I guess I want to normalize what I’m feeling. It’s been bothering me so deeply that even in the middle of work, I find myself drifting,” he said.
“I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to expect anymore. Maybe that’s really why I’m posting this,” he added.
John said he once had 13 dogs but he is now down to five.
“But this one… this is the most painful. For the first time, I wonder if I can still bear having dogs after this stage.”
He then requested for prayers for him and Dindin.
“If you pray — for dogs and for their humans — please don’t hesitate to include us,” John said.
John reprised his role as Hagorn on “Sang’gre.”
He also previously appeared in “Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan.”
