Boobay has shared a health update after fainting on stage during a performance in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, in January.

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras," Thursday, the Kapuso comedian said that his condition, called absence seizure, is now under control through proper medication and regular check-ups.

“Okay naman na, okay na. Siguro nagpasaway na naman ako at that time talaga. Tumuhog na naman ako,” he said.

According to Boobay, he first performed at a fiesta in Tondo before traveling to Oriental Mindoro for another performance.

“Bago 'yun hindi ko kasi in-expect din na ganoon kalayo pala 'yung pupuntahan namin ni Tekla. Before ako nag-show doon, galing muna ako ng Tondo sa fiesta doon. Dumiretso na ako agad-agad ng pa-Batangas.”

Boobay was with fellow comedian Tekla during the incident, who admitted he was shaken by what happened.

“Diyos ko, nangangatog ako. Siyempre ‘yung ano, paano mo i-explain?” Tekla said.

Per Boobay, he grew to appreciate Tekla after the incident.

“Doon ko na-appreciate si Tekla, ang galing niya ha. Partner talaga siya,” he said.

Tekla, for his part, quickly stepped in to keep the audience entertained.

“Doon mo masasabi na the show must go on. On that moment biglang — 'di mo alam, so kailangan may instant ka dun na back up,” Tekla shared. “Tapos 'yung mga tao nakatulala sila, akala nila prank lang."

Boobay also praised Tekla for seamlessly taking over while he was being assisted offstage.

“Pagka-pull out sa akin sa stage, sinalo agad ni Tekla kaya nakabalik ako na ganoon pa rin kataas 'yung energy,” he said.

As seen in a video by Reynaldo Rodas Vlog, Boobay fell on stage mid-performance during the Basudani Festival Variety Show held on January 19. He was immediately assisted and seen to by the medical team.

Meanwhile, the comedic duo is set to reunite on television with a new program, “The Boobay and Tekla Show: On the Go.”

This time, the tandem will take their comedy beyond the studio and onto the streets.

“Mas na-excite kami kasi hindi lang kami nasa loob ng studio. Nakakapagliwaliw na kami, nakakapunta na kami sa mga lugar na I'm sure ang tgal nang pinapangarap ng mga ka-TBATS natin na mapuntahan namin,” Boobay shared.

If David Licauco’s character in “Never Say Die” has a “Tirada Bus,” Boobay and Tekla will have their own “Laff Bus” on the show.

“Lahat ng umpisa ng aming kwento from the bus… Makikipagsalamuha tayo sa kanila kung saan man sila, pupuntahan natin using our Laff Bus," said Tekla. —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA Integrated News
