Basti Artadi addresses viral moment at Davao concert: 'It was bastos'

Basti Artadi has addressed the viral video clip that showed him throwing an audience member out of Wolfgang's Davao reunion concert over the weekend.

Posting a video on social media Tuesday, the lead vocalist said he was paying tribute to the band's bassist Mon Legaspi, who passed away in 2022 when "a couple of people chose that moment to try and separate us."

"And that was bastos, simple as that," Basti said. "It was bastos."

"Everybody who is now spreading this, and making it something it isn't and whatever. It's a political thing now, this and that — you're just separating us some more. And you're making Mon bastos again," he continued.

Basti explained that "the message I was trying to deliver which was 'Mon Legaspi is no longer with us and he is missed and he is loved and will never be forgotten' is getting diluted by stupid sh—."

"That's it. Everything is designed to separate us. Everything. All this online sh— is designed to separate us and make us hate each other and we should love each other. Us. The people should love each other," Basti continued.

Clips of the video showed Basti trying to pay tribute to Mon, when a couple of hecklers from the audience interrupted him with politically related things.

"We don't give a sh— about that tonight, man," Basti responded. "We're just here to make you forget about all that sh—. Tell you what, everybody's lying to everybody, you know? So fu— that. Tonight we're going to tell you the truth. And the truth is Mon Legaspi is no longer here with us."

After a few more heckling, the vocalist threatened to "go home" before telling the hecklers, "if you want to do your freedom of speech, go to the fu— hallways and do it there because right here, this is rock n' roll country. And I'm talking about Mon Legaspi so keep quiet for a bit so I can share a little bit about this guy."

When the hecklers wouldn't stop, a clearly annoyed Basti said, "Get that fu— guy outta here."

"Makulit ka a, umalis ka na nga," he added.

It prompted the crowd to cheer "uwi" before the band played the song "Anino."

Wolfgang is in the middle of their reunion tour around the Philippines. They are set to play the last of their concert series in Cebu on April 19.
