Dingdong Dantes convinced Marian Rivera to accept 'Behind Closed Doors' role

Dingdong Dantes played a major role in convincing Marian Rivera to accept the upcoming Prime Video series "Behind Closed Doors" as her acting comeback.

In Aubrey Carampel's report on "24 Oras," Wedneday, director Dominic Zapata said he spoke to the Kapuso Primetime King.

"Dong, kumbinsihin mo si Yan na gawin 'yung proyekto na 'to, napaka ganda," Direk Dom said. "Ayun, buti pumayag si Yan."

"Very offbeat for her as Marian dahil mistress siya rito, at hindi lang basta mistress—mistress ng presidente ng Pilipinas," he added.

Marian also has nothing but great words about the project.

"Ang gandang pasukin ang mundong hindi ko pa ginagawa," she said.

Marian added that she has a lot to study and learn as she will be portraying a radio journalist.

"Ang ganda nung project. Sabi ko nga hindi lang 'yung character ko, parang halos lahat ng character may puso at may malalim na koneksyon sa bawat isa," Marian said.

GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, who was also present at the Prime Video Philippines lineup launch, said she is looking forward to the series.

"Saka na i-re-reveal 'yung plot and everything, pero it's a very exciting concept," she said.

In the series, Dingdong will have a special participation as the president of the Philippines. Jillian Ward will play his daughter, who will be in conflict with his journalist mistress following his assassination. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA News
