House reso commending BINI's historic Coachella debut filed

A resolution has been filed in the House of Representatives commending the Nation’s Girl Group BINI for their record-setting performance at the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the United States, where they made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian group to perform at the festival.

It was House Special Committee on Creative Industries Chair and Negros Occidental Third District Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez who filed the Resolution under House Resolution 930.

BINI's Coachella debut featured solid vocals and synchronized dance moves at the festival's Mojave stage over two weekends, highlighted by hits “Pantropiko,” “Karera,” “Salamin, Salamin,” “Shagidi," and their latest single “Blush.”

“The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an internationally renowned annual music and arts festival widely regarded as one of the most influential cultural events in the world. The participation in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is considered a major milestone for artists, as it signifies global recognition, cultural influence, and entry into the international mainstream music industry,” Benitez’s resolution read.

“The success of BINI at Coachella 2026 serves as a source of immense national pride, proving that Filipino musicality and artistry can compete and excel at the highest levels of the international entertainment industry, thus serving as an inspiration to aspiring artists and creatives across the country. Now, therefore, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that the House of Representatives of the Philippines commends and congratulates BINI for their historic and groundbreaking performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2026."

Further, Benitez’s resolution provides that it recognizes BINI’s “significant contribution to promoting Filipino culture, artistry, and excellence on the global stage, consistent with the State's constitutional and statutory mandates.”

“Their performances weren’t just a win for the fans, it was a massive milestone for our creative industries and a masterclass in bringing OPM to the global stage,” Benitez also said in a separate statement.

BINI performed at Coachella on April 10 and April 17.

The group is now set perform at the Grammy Museum for Grammy Studios' "Global Spine Live!" series on April 21 (April 22 in the Philippines).
