Miguel Tanfelix to feature Norzagaray, Cavinti, Tarlac, and more in upcoming travel show 'Planet XP'

Miguel Tanfelix is set to explore communities across Luzon in his upcoming travel show “Planet XP,” which aims to reconnect viewers with nature.

On Wednesday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Sparkle star described the show as a “dream come true,” sharing that it was designed to raise awareness among kids and parents about the value of immersing in the environment.

“Mero’n kaming five episodes sa buong Mayo. May pupuntahan kaming iba’t-ibang communities dito sa Pilipinas. Actually, Luzon pa lang po ‘to. Nagpunta kaming Norzagaray, Bulacan. Nagpunta kaming Cavinti, Laguna. Tarlac,” Miguel said.

[We have five episodes the entire month of May. We will be going to different communities in the Philippines — in Luzon. We went to Narzagaray, Bulacan. We also went to Cavinti, Laguna, also Tarlac.]

Each stop will showcase local ways of life, food, and activities, with Miguel fully immersing himself in them.

“So basically, aalamin ko kung paano mamuhay ang isang community sa isang lugar na ‘yon. At very immersive ‘tong show na ‘to, Tito Boy. Ginawa rin namin ‘to para sa bata. Kaya ang title niya, ‘Planet XP,’ kasi para siyang experience points. ‘Yun ‘yung mga mage-gain kong experience points, parang knowledge sa mga missions ko for that episode,” he said.

[Basically, we will learn the way of life in each community. The show is very immersive. And we created this for kids. That's the reason it's titled 'Planet XP' — experience points. That's the experience points I'll gain, knowledge I'll get from each mission for that episode.]

"Planet XP" marks Miguel’s first hosting stint, which he admitted came with both excitement and pressure.

“Medyo na-excite ako but at the same time, may pressure kasi first ko ‘to eh. ‘Paano ako as a host?’ Baka bulol-bulol ako. Baka ‘di ko madeliver nang maayos,” he admitted.

[I was excited but at the same time, I the pressure because this is my first hosting gig. How will I be as a host? I might stutter, I might not be able to deliver my lines well.]

To prepare, he underwent workshops with the King of Talk, who taught him to embrace authenticity on screen.

“Tito Boy, gusto ko lang sabihin na very thankful ako doon sa mga sessions natin dahil ang pinakaimportanteng lesson na nakuha ko doon sa pagiging host ay ‘Be yourself',” Miguel said. “Natutunan ko na ang pagiging host ay hindi pagiging magaling, kundi ang pagiging totoo.”

[TIto Boy, I just want to say how thankful I am for our sessions. The most important lesson I learned about being a host is to 'be yourself.' I learned that being a host is not about being good but about being true.]

Planet XP” premieres on May 2 at 6:30 p.m., with its first episode featuring Norzagaray, Bulacan.

Miguel also joins the advocates of GMA Network’s “Be Juan Tama” advocacy campaign. He will advance the advocacy to the viewers of “Planet XP.”

Aside from the upcoming show, Miguel will star in “Task Force, Firewall” with Kylie Padilla, Jak Roberto, Kyline Alcantara, and Buboy Villar. — LA, GMA News
