'Maria Clara at Ibarra' episodes now on GMA's YouTube channel for free

Fans of "Maria Clara at Ibarra" can now watch the hit series' full episodes on GMA Network's YouTube channel for free!

The good news was announced by GMA Network on social media on Wednesday.

The YouTube channel started reuploading the episodes this week, and so far, the first ten episodes have been posted.

In Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras" Thursday, Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco, who played Fidel in the series, expressed his approval for the show's release on the platform.

"Replay siya nung ['Maria Clara at Ibarra'] talaga, so I think it's nice na makita ulit siya sa free platform which is YouTube, 'di ba," he shared.

"So pwede 'yun balikan ng mga fans ng 'Maria Clara at Ibarra' dati and also 'yung hindi pa nakakapanood. Mapapanood na nila on GMA YouTube channel."

Aside from David, "Maria Clara at Ibarra" starred Dennis Trillo as Crisostomo Ibarra, Julie Anne San Jose as Maria Clara, Barbie Forteza as Klay, Andrea Torres as Sisa, and Tirso Cruz III as Padre Damaso.

Other cast members include Juan Rodrigo as Kapitan Tiago, Rocco Nacino as Elias, Juancho Triviño as Padre Salvi, Ces Quesada as Tiya Isabel, and Gilleth Sandico as Donya Victorina.

The series was directed by award-winning Kapuso director Zig Dulay and inspired by Dr. Jose Rizal's novels, "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo."

It follows the story of Klay, a Gen Z nursing student, who fails her Rizal Studies class, which she regards as irrelevant. Her professor gives her a chance to pass the subject and lends her a copy of "Noli Me Tangere." Klay somehow finds herself transported into the world of both novels and learns about Philippine history in the process.

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" premiered on GMA Network in October 2022 and aired its finale in February 2023.

The series is also available on Netflix
