Matet De Leon clarifies post about inheritance was for bashers
Matet De Leon previously made waves online after posting a cryptic message on her social media account.
In her Facebook post, the actress had shared a photo of herself and her siblings—Lotlot de Leon, Kenneth de Leon, and Kiko de Leon—who were all adopted by the late Nora Aunor.
"Post ko lang uli. Ito nga pala ang ngiti ng mga ampon na walang mana. Mukha ba kaming may pake?" she wrote in the caption.
During her guesting on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Thursday, Matet clarified that the post was meant for bashers.
“Eh, 'yun naman po 'yung sinasabi ng mga tao eh. Na ‘wala kayong mana. Wala kayong karapatan pamanahan.’ Laging gano'n. ‘Mabuti nga ano eh, parang mabuti nga inampon pa kayo eh. Eh, 'yung oras para kay Ian binigay pa sa inyo. Kaagaw na kayo ni Ian buong buhay niya. Maging masaya na kayo na binihisan at pinag-aral kayo, pinakain kayo,’” Matet said.
“So, doon po, parang kumulo ako. As if we're not thankful, we're grateful to her. I'm here with you, talking to you, Tito Boy, because of my mom,” she added.
Matet also called for respect as they still mourn the death of their mother.
“Lagi kami inaano ng tao ng mana, mana, mana. Hindi na nila inisip na hindi naman isang taon ang pagluluksa. Hindi po one year 'yan. Tuloy-tuloy. Respetuhin niyo naman kami kasi inaalala pa namin si Mommy,” Matet said.
“Hindi po namin iniisip 'yung mana na 'yan and wala kaming hinihingi, wala kaming kine-claim,” she added.
She also asked people to respect not only her but her adoptive brothers as well, who are being called “call boy” by netizens.
“Please respect us. Not just me, but my brothers too. Because tinawag na kaming call boy, call girl. Kung hindi kayo kinuha ni Nora Aunor, malamang call girl, call boy. I don’t think mommy would be happy kung buhay siya na nalalaman niya na sinasabi niya 'yan,” the actress emphasized.
“Ako, okay lang ako. Kasi dito, okay lang. But my brothers, hindi po artist ang mga kapatid ko. At ikaw lumalaban. Pero still, that doesn't give permission to anyone na tawagin kami ng kung ano-ano,” Matet added.
In the same interview, Matet said that while Nora left many properties, she does not have any knowledge about her last will and testament.
“Iyon pong mga properties, madami po talaga. Kasi mga in-invest po nila ni lola. But 'yung last will, hindi ko po alam kung mayroon. And hindi ko na po inaalam,” she said.
Nora died on April 16, 2025 at the age of 71. According to Ian, her only biological child, her cause of death was acute respiratory failure.
Dubbed as the Superstar, Nora was named a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022. She was known for her iconic roles in the films "Himala," "Bona," and "Minsa'y Isang Gamu-gamo."
Her last films include "Mananambal," in which she starred with Bianca Umali, as well as "Pieta" with Alfred Vargas.
In 2024, she appeared in the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law," starring alongside Jo Berry. The two of them previously worked together in the 2018 Kapuso series "Onanay."
Nora was also known for her singing voice. Among her popular songs include "Pearly Shells" and "Tiny Bubbles."
She married Christopher de Leon in 1975, but they later separated and their marriage was annulled in 1996. They have five children: Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth. —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA News
