6 things we learned from Bea Borres' tell-all interview on 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda'

A few days before Mother’s Day, Bea Borres took to “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on Friday to detail her pregnancy journey.

In her interview with the King of Talk, the young star talked about her strained relationship with her ex-boyfriend, basketball player Meray Yamada, as well as how she coped with pregnancy at such young age.

Here are six things we learned from the interview:

1. She found out she was pregnant after only one month of being together

According to the social media star, she and Meray were long time friends before they got in a relationship.

“Pero hindi kami super close. We were party friends already and he came from a relationship," Bea said, admitting she may have made a mistake.

According to the young mother, Meray was in a relationship but was firm in telling her that he had already broken up with the girl before he pursued Bea.

“Well, according to him break na daw sila, eh ako kasi I came from a relationship before na sobrang ubos na ubos na ako, I moved on to the next agad," she admitted.

"Hindi pala ganoon ang mga lalaki. Mga lalak,i pala coping mechanism nila mambabae,” Bea said.

“So ayun, you know the saying a relationship built on another woman’s tears will not work out. Totoo pala ‘yon. It will never work,” Bea added.

A month into their relationship, Bea found she was pregnant.

2. Toni Fowler and Alex Gonzaga were the first one to know

Bea was with her celebrity friends Toni Fowler and Alex Gonzaga when she learned about her pregnancy.

“Kasi si Mommy Oni [Toni Fowler], she was giving me an advice kasi sabi ko nga di ba same kami ng experience. So siya ‘yung past relationship niya galing din sa breakup. Sabi niya, ‘sige lang, gawin mo lang ang kahit anong gusto mong gawin, huwag ka lang magpabuntis',” Bea recalled.

“Sa isip-isip ko, that’s funny cause I’m actually one week delayed already. Tapos sabi niya magpa-test ka na, and sabi ko ‘Hindi naman. I have PCOS kasi so alam mo ‘yun, wala lang ‘yan," Bea said.

It was when Alex arrived and told her to take the test that Bea finally did. "Tapos biglang may faint line,” she narrated.

Bea was surprised and admitted to being scared at the same time. Her friend Andrea Brillantes then called her, and that’s when she broke the news to her.

“Tulalang-tulala ako and Blythe was crying. ‘Talaga ba?’ Gumanon siya. ‘Anong reaksyon mo? Masaya ka ba? Habang takot na takot ako, sayang-saya ka na buntis ako?’ Sabi niya, ‘May baby na tayo!’” Bea said.

3. It was (obviously) unplanned

When asked if the pregnancy was planned, Bea answered by revealing that she was supposed to sign a contract with GMA Sparkle.

“Pa-skyrocket na ‘yung career ko. Mag-sa-sign na ako sa GMA. As in may contract na ako and everything. I’m just asking some questions, parang kin-clarify ko na lang, nagko-consult na ako sa lawyer ko tapos biglang nabuntis ako," she said. "Hindi talaga siya planado."

4. Her ex found out the pregnancy through Andrea Brillantes

It was through Andrea or Blythe that Meray found out about Bea’s pregnancy. According to Bea, she didn't know how to tell Meray. "Sobrang takot ako kasi 'di talaga kami ready. So [tinext ko si Andrea], ‘Bestie hindi ko talaga alam paano ko sasabihin sa kaniya. Tine-text ko na siya na parang you still love me no matter what, right?’ tapos si Blythe parang nainis na siya kasi friend din siya ni Blythe,” Bea said.

She went home to Meray's that night. "Eh same building kasi si Blythe tsaka ‘yung ex ko. Tapos hinug niya (Blythe) kami, sabi niya ‘Bea’s pregnant.’ Tapos sabi ng ex ko ‘What? Are you serious? I need my mom.’ Gumanon siya,” Bea narrated.

According to Bea, everything was going smoothly until her “hormones” and “expectations” kicked in.

“He told his mom. OK naman sa mommy niya. It was going smoothly naman tapos ayun nag-kick in na siguro ‘yung hormones ko. Nag-kick in na siguro ‘yung expectations ko sa kaniya. Parang lumabas ‘yung tunay na ugali ko, ‘yung tunay na ugali niya. Kasi siyempre bago pa lang kami, nasa honeymoon phase pa lang kami tapos boom buntis ako,” she said.

5. She broke up with her ex during her pregnancy

Bea and her baby daddy broke up while she was pregnant.

‘’Yung relationship namin that time ay on and off. Sinasabi niya na wala na kami but we were still together,” Bea clarified, adding their constant fights and Meray’s frequent hangouts with other girls ultimately led her to decide to end their relationship.

“During my pregnancy it was really hard. Lagi na kaming nag-aaway. Inaaway ko na siya kasi wala nga siyang initiative. Parang buntis ako, 'can you be more romantic?' Ayon. Nonchalant kasi siya eh gusto ko lang ng parang romantic na partner,” she said.

“Siyempre nag-expect ako kasi I’m carrying his child so I was really expecting the love. I needed the love, I needed to feel that — alam mo ‘yun? 'I will care for you, I will take care of you.' Pero walang ganoon Tito Boy."

Bea admitted she chased after him after their breakup because she didn’t want to be a single mom.

“Pero noong nakipag-break ako, in-expect ko na hahabulin niya ako kasi siyempre dinadala ko ‘yung anak niya and then three days after naming mag-break I was trying. Hinahabol ko siya parang takot na takot ako maging single mom. I’m so scared na maging single mom,” Bea shared.

“And then biglang ano, may kinakausap na siya agad. So sabi ko cinutoff ko lahat. Binalik ko ‘yung pera na ginastos niya. Sabi ko ayoko na. Kasi lahat kaya kong tiisin, pero kapag may babaeng involve, ayoko na,” she said.

6. She considered terminating the pregnancy

In the tell-all interview, Bea bravely shared that she considered terminating the pregnancy in the United States.

“Siyempre sa America left and right ang clinic so I considered it na, what if hindi ko na ituloy,” she admitted.

Per Bea, it was her fear in God that stopped her. “‘Yung takot ko po sa Diyos. I’m not the most religious person pero takot na takot po talaga ako kay Lord. Feeling ko kahit I ask for forgiveness, may nadamay na baby,” Bea said.

“Kaya ko naman eh honestly speaking, kaya ko naman. Kaya naman ng family ko. So alam mo ‘yun natatakot ako na anuhin ako ni Lord eh na i-take away sa akin ‘yung mga mayroon ako. Natakot po talaga ako,” she added.

In January, Bea revealed that she had given birth to her daughter Victoria Hope in December. After 44 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), the baby was finally discharged.

Bea announced her pregnancy in August 2025. That same month, she shared a sonogram and revealed that she is having a baby girl.

According to Bea, she is co-parenting with her ex-boyfriend’s mother.
