Marco Masa, Clifford share preparations for roles in 'You're My Favorite Song'
How did Marco Masa and Clifford prepare for their roles in the upcoming Kapuso series "You're My Favorite Song?"
In Nelson Canlas' report in "24 Oras" on Thursday, Clifford said that aside from doing his research, the young actor sought advice to fellow Kapuso star Anton Vinzon.
"I'm doing my research and may kinausap din po ako. Isa siya sa pinaka maangas sa mundo si Anton Vinzon. Actually kinausap ko na po si Anton, nanghingi po ako ng tips," he said.
According to Clifford, Anton even gave him a playful makeover briefing to fully embody the character.
"Sinabi niya na, 'Clifford bawal ka na magsuot ng ganito ha ngayon, maangas ka na. Ito na 'yung suot mo, ito na 'yung mukha mo, bawal mag-smile,'" Clifford said.
Meanwhile, Marco said he turned to Clifford himself for guidance in portraying a softer personality onscreen.
"Kung siya nagtanong kay Anton, ako naman nagtanong kay Clifford," the young star shared.
Marco added that since Clifford previously played "soft boy" roles, he asked his co-star for tips on how to properly embody the character type.
Aside from Marco and Clifford, "You're My Favorite Song" will also star their fellow "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab 2.0" housemates Caprice Cayetano, Heath Jornales, Waynona Collings, Princess Aliyah and Lee Victor as well as Sparkle Campus Cuties Andrei Fajardo, Kairo Lazarte of Cloud 7, James Blanco, Katya Santos, and Buboy Garovillo.
According to Caprice, her character in the series is "medyo palaban" and protective towards her loved ones.
"Grabe po siya sa school. Mayroon po siyang medyo kaaway dun sa school kaya abangan n'yo po 'yun kung sino siya. So medyo palaban kaya sabi ko hala pero hindi naman po siya nang-aaway. Very protective lang po siya sa mga loved ones niya," she said.
Heath, meanwhile, will play Miguel, who struggles with growing up under the spotlight.
"Miguel never really had a chance to become a normal kid kasi he was exposed to demanding management and fans screaming out his name. Sometimes he goes to nagba-busking busking siya tapos he wears a mascot para hindi siya makilala pero he still loves to perform," Heath said.
The cast also received support during the story conference and look test from GMA Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, who expressed excitement over the project.
"Ang cute talaga ng cast natin. Ang gaganda nilang tignan and the energy is really giving, so abangan 'yan," she said.
"You're My Favorite Song" is set to be directed by JP Habac, who is known for the film "I'm Drunk, I Love You."
The series is an original concept by Mark Ivan Caro. It will be written by Erwin Caezar Bravo, who is behind the hit primetime series "Black Rider" and "My Ilonggo Girl."
