Julie Anne San Jose calls Rayver Cruz her 'main source of energy' as they return for 'The Clash Teens'

Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz said they continue to draw strength from each other as they return as Clash Masters for "The Clash Teens."

At Tuesday's media conference, the Sparkle stars opened up about their work dynamic, shared how they avoid fatigue amid busy schedules, and reflected on balancing their relationship with working together onscreen.

For Rayver, enjoying the job itself plays a big role in keeping exhaustion at bay, with Julie also serving as an added source of motivation.

"Bukod sa kape, siguro nababawasan 'yung fatigue kasi nae-enjoy namin 'to eh and 'yong lahat ng 'to. And once in-enjoy mo naman 'yung trabaho mo and 'yung environment kung nasaan ka—ako para sa akin, personally, hindi masyado nagki-kick in 'yung pagod kasi love ko 'to eh. Masaya ako pagka nandito ako sa trabaho," he said.

"S'yempre bonus na lang na lagi ko pa siyang nakikita. Tanggal pagod talaga," Rayver added, referring to Julie Anne.

Julie Anne echoed the sentiment, saying Rayver has become her biggest source of energy while working.

"Same naman. Pagka lagi kong kasama si Ray, wala, hindi ako napapagod. Siya ang aking main source of energy 'pag nandiyan siya," she said.

She also admitted that fatigue is unavoidable, especially when she works alone or attends events, but said passion helps her push through.

"I can't avoid it pero I can handle it. Siguro the best way to handle it is enjoy lang. Enjoy lang. Kasi ano naman eh, kapagka kasi love mo 'yung ginagawa mo or kapagka passionate ka sa craft mo, parang everything else just follows," she said.

Asked how they separate work and their relationship, Julie Anne said their long friendship and years in the entertainment industry helped them establish a healthy dynamic.

"I think dahil medyo matagal na rin kami ni Ray magkakilala and mas matagal na kaming artists kaysa doon sa time na magkakilala kami. Pero even before we were together, talagang best friends kami. So parang we kind of like know each other. Alam namin eh kung papaano i-work around and kung may personal na kami kailangang i-handle," she said.

Jillian Ward, Christian Bautista, and BGYO's JL Toreliza will serve as judges in "The Clash Teens."

It will premiere on June 7 on GMA Network. —MGP, GMA News
