Filipinos cheer on Dolly De Leon as she appears in 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Season 2
Filipinos are beaming with pride as Dolly De Leon made her appearance in Netflix’s “Avatar: The Last Airbender” Season 2!
On Thursday, Netflix dropped the seven episodes of the second season, which featured a scene of Dolly playing the twins Lo and Li, the fire-bending mentors to Azula, princess of the Fire Nation.
Shortly after her appearance on the show, netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to cheer on the award-winning actress.
“What’s better than The Dolly de Leon?2 Dolly de Leons! Hahah so funny! Can’t wait to see more of her scenes,” a user wrote.
“Uy Pilipins! Our very own Dolly de Leon in #Avatar: The Last Airbender #ATLA,” another netizen said.
Previously, Dolly said she's "extremely excited and honored" to be part of the live-action version of the animated classic.
"It's my first time to play twins, which is the best fun in a creative process," Dolly said in a press release. "It's a dream come true."
This is not the first time that Dolly has done international acting projects. In 2022, she played the role of Abigail in the critically acclaimed film “Triangle of Sadness.”
She also starred in her first American TV series, "Nine Perfect Strangers" Season 2. Dolly has also been cast as Lola Fatima in the DreamWorks animated film “Forgotten Island.”
Netflix's "Avatar: The Last Airbender" premiered its first season last February 2024 and was renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 in March 2024.
