Kobie Brown to play Lancelot in 'About Us but Not About Us' theater staging

Kobie Brown will play Lancelot in the theater staging of "About Us But Not About Us."

On Facebook, the IdeaFirst Company announced that Elijah Canlas returns to play Lancelot, the role he originated, but Kobie is joining as the second actor.

According to the production company, Kobie won the role in the auditions.

"The role seemed to find its rightful owner the moment Kobie began. He was the actor we'd been looking for," director Tuxqs Rutaquio said.

"Elijah brings the Lancelot audiences already love. Kobie brings his own. See them both," The IdeaFirst Company added.

"About Us but Not About Us" will be staged from October 2 to 25 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater, Circuit Makati.

It is based on the 2022 psychological drama film by Jun Robles Lana, which Elijah and Romnick Sarmenta as a student and professor who meet at a restaurant. As they have their conversation, secrets are revealed.

At the Gawad Urian in 2024, it won Best Screenplay and Best Actor for Romnick.

At the 2023 Metro Manila Summer Film Festival, it won Best Picture, Best Director Best Actor for Romnick, Best Screenplay, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound, Best Musical Score, and Special Jury Prize for Elijah.

Meanwhile, Kobie officially joined the Sparkle family in May.

Kobie gained mainstream attention through "Pinoy Big Brother: Connect" in 2020 where he finished as the 3rd Big Placer. He has since appeared in films such as "Sisa" and "Entitled."

He previously appeared in GMA Afternoon Prime series "Born to Shine."
