Inah De Belen reveals mom Janice encouraged her to live with Jake Vargas

Inah De Belen revealed that it was her mother, Janice de Belen, who suggested that she and longtime boyfriend Jake Vargas move in together five years ago.

During her guesting with Jake in “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” Friday, Inah shared the idea came after she had been spending most of her time with Jake instead of at home.

"Actually, Tito Boy, something happened five years ago. So I think my mom just suggested it. Actually, she's the one who suggested, 'Bakit hindi na lang kayo mag-live in?' Kasi during that time also, I was always not at home anymore. Halos everyday, every week, [si Jake] ang kasama ko. So sabi ng mom ko, why don’t you guys live together?" Inah recalled.

She admitted she was initially surprised by Janice's suggestion but said the topic had already been discussed privately between her and Jake.

"Noong una siyempre nagulat ako. Like, talaga ba? Totoo ba 'to? But then, leading up to that, I have already thought about it. We're already talking about it," Inah said.

She added that although they had not planned to formally ask for permission, Janice's suggestion felt like a blessing for their relationship.

The couple, who have now been living together for five years, also opened up about their future plans.

According to Jake, marriage is definitely part of their journey, although they are not rushing into it.

"May plano naman kami, Tito Boy. Hindi naman namin minamadali. Ang sabi ko rin naman sa kaniya, dapat swak na swak na tayong dalawa," he said.

Inah admitted she was previously hesitant about getting married because of her parents Janice and John Estrada’s separation.

"A few years ago, ayoko naman talaga. I told him many times I didn't want to get married because of what happened to my parents. Pero now, OK na ako. Gusto ko na," she said.

During the Fast Talk round of their interview, the couple was asked if they were ready to have a baby. When Jake answered, “yes,” Inah was shocked.

In 2017, Inah revealed in a "24 Oras" interview that her relationship with Jake already had her family's approval. — LA, GMA News
