'Taskforce Firewall' agents dress up as 'Encantadia' characters in special episode

The cast of "Taskforce Firewall" will bring a nostalgic twist to an upcoming episode as several agents don costumes inspired by characters from "Encantadia."

In Athena Imperial’s report on "24 Oras," on Friday, Kylie Padilla, who plays Isa, revealed that her character will cosplay as Amihan, one of her most beloved roles.

“‘Yung mga nandun, nagtataka kung bakit nakabaril si Amihan kasi dapat espada 'yun, 'di ba? Pero bakit daw siya nakabaril?” Kylie said.

“Ang funny lang isipin na si Isa magdadamit as Amihan. Panuorin niyo na lang. Iba din 'yung atake ko doon kasi hindi niya kilala si Amihan. Hindi kilala ni Isa,” she added.

Kylie also shared that she incorporated some of her own ideas into the action scenes, including one stunt involving Isa jumping from a playground structure.

"‘Yung isang stunt nga ‘yung tumalon si Isa doon sa parang palaruan. Tapos lilipad siyang gano'n. Ako din ‘yun eh,” Kylie said.

Meanwhile, Cheska Fausto, who plays Agent Leila, transforms into Sang'gre Flammara.

“I give it to the writers of the creative team. Kasi, paano mo maiisip 'yun, 'di ba? Sa isang action, modern action series tapos papasukan mo ng ‘Encantadia' stunt, 'di ba? Which is very iconic rin,” she said.

Buboy Villar, who previously portrayed Wantuk in “Encantadia,” said wearing a similar costume for the special episode brought back fond memories of his time in the fantasy series.

“Nag-bring back memories talaga kami. Nag-usap kami nila Kylie na parang, 'oh my God! 2016, 'di ba? 2016, sinusuot mo 'yung costume na 'yan.' Akala nila na parang mayroon daw ‘Encantadia’ Part 3 daw or ‘Sang’gre’ Part [2],” he said.

Miguel Tanfelix, meanwhile, dressed up as Pagaspas, a role he previously portrayed in “Mulawin" and "Encantadia.”

Beyond the cosplay, the cast emphasized that the series tackles timely issues involving crimes committed through online games and social media, particularly those targeting children.

"Kailangan mapanood ito hindi lang ng mga bata of course, pati ng mga magulang. Marami nang mga masasamang tao, hindi lang basta nakikita mo lang, nasa social media na 'yan sila. Kaya mag-iingat, nasa games na,” Buboy said.

“It's a very real issue na kailangan talaga mapag-usapan. Kasi it's really not safe for kids to be chatting with mga mapagpanggap na tao na it might cause them danger,” Kylie added.

Aside from Cheska, Kylie, Buboy, and Miguel “Taskforce Firewall” stars Kyline Alcantara, Luis Hontiveros, and Lexi Gonzales, among others.
