'Maria Clara at Ibarra' to air on GMA Network anew in August

Fans of "Maria Clara at Ibarra" can watch the hit Kapuso series on free TV starting in August!

On Instagram, GMA Network announced that the award-winning fantaserye will be aired on GMA Afternoon Prime beginning August 3 at 4:30 p.m.

In April, full episodes of “Maria Clara at Ibarra” were uploaded to YouTube for free.

“Maria Clara at Ibarra” stars Barbie Forteza as Klay, Dennis Trillo as Crisostomo Ibarra, Julie Anne San Jose as Maria Clara, David Licauco as Fidel, Andrea Torres as Sisa, and Tirso Cruz III as Padre Damaso.

The series was directed by award-winning Kapuso director Zig Dulay and inspired by Dr. Jose Rizal's novels, "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo."

It follows the story of Klay, a Gen Z nursing student, who fails her Rizal Studies class, which she regards as irrelevant. Her professor gives her a chance to pass the subject and lends her a copy of "Noli Me Tangere." Klay somehow finds herself transported into the world of both novels and learns about Philippine history in the process.

"Maria Clara at Ibarra" premiered on GMA Network in October 2022 and aired its finale in February 2023.

The series is also available on Netflix.
